Metalcasters Host EPA Policy Makers |

AFS and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have worked together successfully for more than eight years through the Metalcasting Sector Program at EPA. As part of the effort to further educate the agency on the metalcasting industry, AFS would like to thank Wilton-Armetale, Mount Joy, Pa., and Buck Co., Quarryville, Pa., for hosting members of the EPA beneficial sand reuse team last month. Both companies welcomed EPA policy team leaders and members of the sand team for tours of their facilities. The EPA group also visited a Penn State Univ. research facility, where soil scientists are studying the use of metalcasting sand in manufactured top soil.
