Intermet Reaches Safety Milestone |

AFS corporate member Intermet Corp., Fort Worth, Texas, announced in January that its New River plant in Radford, Va., passed the two million hours worked mark without a lost time injury in early December 2006. This translates into more than 800 days of continuous operation for the plant's 340 employees. Jeff Hamley, safety manager at the New River facility, attributes the notable achievment to employee training and the company's safety initiatives.
