AFS participated in the WESTEC Exposition, Los Angeles, March 31-April 3. The event, sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, is the largest annual machine tools and advanced manufacturing event in North America. WESTEC attracts leaders from a variety of industries, including aerospace and defense, energy, automotive, electronics, medical and consumer products. AFS’s exhibit booth featured casting competition winners from the last few years, as well as information about the metalcasting process, educational opportunities, and casting design and sourcing assistance available at AFS. “WESTEC gives us the opportunity to keep metalcasting in front of casting buyer. Often, these end-users are lost when trying to find casting sources. What metal is needed? What process is good for my part? How do I find a good casting supplier? We are a face-to-face resource for them in a time of need,” said Alfred Spada, AFS director of marketing, communications and PR. For more information on AFS’s participation in WESTEC, contact Dave Krugman, PR and marketing coordinator, at
