Environmental 101 Seminar Focuses on Environmental Management

The 2008 American Foundry Society (AFS) Environmental 101 Seminar was held at the Crown Plaza Atlanta Airport Hotel, Atlanta Ga., Feb. 18-19.  The event featured 10 speakers from prominent companies in the metalcasting industry.

Metalcasting professionals gathered to learn about basic environmental issues and concerns facing the U.S. industry.  Topics discussed included permitting and reporting, testing, pollution control, waste management, air quality and water quality laws and regulations, how to prepare for an inspection, training requirements and environmental management.

“AFS is proud to offer an event that provides such pertinent information about environmental issues, regulations and laws affecting the metalcasting industry in the U.S.,” said Jerry Call, AFS executive vice president.
