Leo Baran Named AFS Director of Membership
The American Foundry Society (AFS) is pleased to announce that Leo Baran has been named its Director of Membership Services.A Chicago area native, Baran received his BS degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and is certified in Process Metallurgy/Nonferrous by the Cast Metals Institute (CMI).  Before joining AFS, Baran worked for the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) from 1997-2007 as the Director of Membership & Marketing. Through the years, Baran has made presentations throughout North America and Europe on technical and management related topics.At AFS, Baran will oversee the membership department, including the 10% By 2010 campaign that kicked off in August.

“The addition of Leo Baran will strengthen AFS' ties to its membership, thus ensuring our Society’s future for many years to come," said Jerry Call, AFS executive vice president.“There is no better way to be tuned into the metalcasting industry than through AFS membership,"said Baran.
