Wednesday's Metalcasting Workshops: Refractory Coating Basics For Ductile Iron Castings
Day Two (Wednesday, April 6) includes three workshops covering the metalcasting gamet. "Refractory Coating Basics: More Than Meets the Eye," discusses a practical look at mold and core coatings and issues related to refactory coatings. "Refractory Challenges for Today's Noferrous and Ferrous Induction Melting," gives information how to troubleshoot induction melting as it pertains to both ferrous and nonferrous induction melting (including moisture problems, ground detection and safety systems and refractory issues for ferrous and nonferrous melting situations. Finally, the workshop "Ductile Iron Castings - The Problems You Could Have and How to Find Them," will focus on nodularizer, inoculant and alloy choices in addition to the iron and the negative effects that can be produced, rigging methods and negative impacts, and ultrasonic testing.
